I wanted to drop in and recommend a topic to those of you who might be interested.

Tzaims Luksus is a 94 year old award winning fashion textile designer and artist, formerly a resident of my home state of Vermont and now an expat in Myanmar. Tzaims is one of the most fascinating characters I have come across in all my days.
From his labyrinthine and mysterious abandoned house in Old Bennington, to his storied and often stormy relationship with huge names in fashion, to his self-mythology, to his sailor outfits, to his life as an expat, it’s a worthy rabbit hole happening in real time.

I won’t post links out of respect, as it is upsetting to see his property violated, but many urbex videos of his abandoned house exist and are possible to find. They are a fascinating if ethically questionable documentation of the private sanctuary of a true lifelong artist, revealing the methodical madness, the complexity, the the mess and the enigma and genius of this man. They also show an existential story of inevitable decline and loss in the afterglow of a vivid life that you can’t help but be moved by.

Tzaims, thank you for being so incredibly inspiring.
